How can I find my DirecTV receiver's IP Address?

Steps for receivers with firmware older than version 0xc24 (usually non-genie models)


  1. Press the Menu button on your receiver.
  2. Go to Settings & Help, then select Settings.
  3. Press the cursor keys and navigate to Network Setup.
  4. Then select Advanced Setup.
  5. The number labeled IP Address is the one you’re looking for.

Steps for newer receivers


  1. Press the Menu button on your receiver.
  2. On the main menu, highlight Settings & Help.
  3. Select Settings, and navigate to Internet Setup.
  4. Go to Advanced Setup and highlight and select Advanced IP Config.
  5. Wait for a few seconds, and it should be labeled as IP Address.
It's not working, what's wrong?

Chances are, it's not your fault.

You most likely need to enable whole-home within your receiver's settings.


Steps for enabling Whole Home


  1. Press the Menu button on your receiver.
  2. On the main menu, highlight Settings & Help.
  3. Select Settings, and navigate to Whole Home.
  4. Select External Devices
  5. Change External Access and Current Program to Allow
It's still not working...

Ensure you are connected to the same network as your DirecTV STB, and have any firewall rules / CORS blocking scripts disabled.
